Volcanoes - photo by s/v Sol Surfin'There are many volcanoes in Central America.  These 3 are, from left to right, Izalco, Cerro Verde and Santa Anna.

The Lake below is Lago Coatepeque in the western portion of the country.  Many San Salvadorians have weekend homes and boats here.

Bahia Del SolCarrie's parents and brother visited for a week in April.  Everyone had a good time.  We packed a lot of sightseeing into a short period!

Our friend Santos took all of us for a panga ride into the mangroves with his wife and son.

We took a trip to Suchitoto and visited the Alexander Coto museum.  Alexander gives the tours himself.  There is a large collection of art, mainly from Central America and extraordinary gardens on the property.

ParrotThe Bahia del Sol hotel has a samll zoo with deer, geese, a goat and many birds.

Of course we went out to eat a lot while the parents and brother were in El Salvador.  There are many fun and interesting places to eat and drink.  We frequent the Galley (below with red chairs), Jan's Thursday night chicken BBQ , Manuel's (below over the water), Mar Y Sol (below with group of people), the Bahia Del Sol (pictured above) and the Lempa Mar (www.lempamar.net, not pictured).

We are planning more inland trips during rainy season.  It is very easy to travel by bus to most of Central America.  Stay tuned for more pictures next month!
